RoadWatch® uses the same, state-of-the art infrared sensing technology employed in heat-seeking missiles to constantly measure and report actual road surface temperatures. RoadWatch will accurately sense a one-degree change in road surface temperature in one-tenth of a second. An early warning system alerts the driver when the road surface temperature dips to thirty-seven degrees or below. Using state-of-the-art infrared sensing, RoadWatch® was originally developed to assist highway and public works departments determine when and where to apply road treatment chemicals.

Thousands of RoadWatch systems are already in use throughout North America and Europe. Using its unique early warning capability, city and state highway departments and airports rely on RoadWatch to tell them when to treat road surfaces hazardous driving conditions are created.

RoadWatch® SS is mainly for use by Departments of Transportation (Municipalities: local, state and federal), can also be used as a Tool for De-Icing or Line Painting on Asphalt.

RoadWatch® SS Temperature Indicating System shows the actual pavement and outside air temperature. RoadWatch® SS assures accurate, real-time pavement temperature information critical to proper deployment of anti-icing and de-icing materials. When the road surface temperature indicates 35 degrees Fahrenheit, the visual alert notifies drivers of approaching deployment conditions. To further optimize utility and cost efficiency, RoadWatch with RS-232 has the capability of communicating road and air temperature data to other equipment or systems.
