Model Dock View 16
FORWARD/REVERSE READING TRUCK DOCK DISTANCE INDICATOR

DOCK VIEW 16: Wall mounted Nema 4 display box with 6" high 1-1/2 digit display. Kit consists of (1) Sensor, (1) 25 ft Sensor cable, Sensor mounting bracket and hardware.

Display can be read from a distance of 0 to 16 feet minimum when viewed facing or backing to the display.

Dock View 16 can be reversed to read distance of 0 to 16 feet when viewed from a truck mirror.

Designed to work at TRUCK LOADING DOCKS and similar locations to provide a distance measurement in feet from the trucks rear bumper to the dock.

The TEACO DOCK VIEW 16 is equipped with one (1) or an optional second or third ultrasonic sensors.

The sensors can be mounted below the lift gate of loading docks, or at other locations on the dock that will allow them to sense the rear of the truck as it is backing up to the dock.

The sensors must not be mounted out past the dock surface. There is an offset control built into the DOCK VIEW 16 controller that allows up to 3 feet offset adjustment for sensors that are mounted recessed.

INSTALLATION

1.

2.

3.

Mount the controller/display in a location visible from the drivers side of the truck and in a manner that the display can be viewed in the drivers mirror when backing up to the loading dock. This is normally 6 to 8 feet high on the left side of the dock, at a position the driver can see when backing up. It is suggested that the display be tilted forward slightly to reduce glare from the sun or lights that may be in the area.

Mount the sensor/bracket recessed under the loading dock in a position where it will detect the ICC bumper on the truck.

Wire the cable from the controller to the sensor. It is suggested that the sensor be mounted recessed slightly to take advantage of the offset adjustment. This offset control is used to zero the display reading when a truck is backed up to the dock. This control is adjustable from zero
to 3 feet on the display.

OPERATION
1.

2.

3.

4.

Power the controller from a 120 Volts AC outlet.

Remove the front cover of the control/display.

Position a 1' x 1' piece of cardboard perpendicular to the sensor at the distance/position an ICC bumper would normally be at from the sensor. Adjust the offset control to read 0 on the display.

Reinstall the front cover of the control/display, making sure that it is seated and sealed from the environment.

Note: The DOCK VIEW 16 is an operator's safety aid only and is not intended to relieve the operator from safe operation of the vehicle.

The detectable reflections from ultrasonic waves of an object depend on the objects hardness, dimensions and direction. In rare cases, there are instances where nothing is effectively reflected back to the sensor. Caution should always be used when backing up to a dock.
